      Job Description Summary

      The Run Engineer is responsible for identifying process improvements, justification, design, estimating, implementation, start-up as well as managing all aspects of plant operations. Manages and supports on-going manufacturing operations. Provides problem solving and support of plant process equipment including process control systems.

      Run Engineer - Key Responsibilities

      • Effectively implements process improvements which includes, managing plant projects.
      • Manage plant process control strategy, architecture, and systems. Lead integration efforts when required to implement standardized control systems.
      • Assist with the engineering scope for all major projects including cost estimates and capital CER’s.
      • Provide engineering review of projects being proposed by various departments.
      • Consult with and obtain plant agreement on process improvements. Also consult with other functions, internal and external, such as safety, accounting, insurance, etc. concerning engineering phases relating to them.
      • Develop operating procedures for new & existing processes.
      • Provide training to operators & other plant personnel for new & existing processes.
      • Provide start up support for process improvements.
      • Keep informed on new technology and equipment which may have potential use for new projects and improvement of existing facilities (both process and environmental).
      • Complete Hazard reviews (PHA’s) and Safety reviews for new and existing projects.
      • Develop and utilize Elementis engineering standards where possible.
      • Management of contractors as necessary. Includes supervising build to scope and engineering specifications, resolving change orders, adherence to safety standards, and final as-built documentation .

      Additional Job Description

      • Complete understanding and adherence to safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
      • B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering with experience in a chemical manufacturing and batch processing or commensurate experience
      • 3-5 years experience
      • Thorough & demonstrated understanding of process control systems including DCS, PLC and HMI’s
      • Very strong Project Management skills.
      • Plant & process design experience, including process control system experience and expansion capability.
      • Strong communication skills
      • Proficient user of computer equipment. This includes Word, Excel, MS Project and ERP software

      Process control experience preferred
