Job Description

- Perform calculations and analyze the response in a nuclear reactor based on different cases and scenarios
- Conduct safety analysis based on recurring scenarios, as well as new legal requirements or incident reports
- Write and review reports based on your findings
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Physics, Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear preferred) that provides a strong technical and theoretical foundation.
- minimum 3.0 GPA
- Related education/research and/or internship

- Have programming skills, preferably in Python and/or MATLAB
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environment
- You are thorough and structured. You approach tasks and enjoy solving theoretical problems.

This position is hybrid in nature requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area OR WECs facility in Chatanooga, TN. No relocation will be provided for this position. We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity.
As a Safety Analysis Engineer, your main responsibility will be to carry out calculations and conduct security analyses of our BWR reactors.
Your Day-to-Day:
You will work in project-based teams in close collaboration with project managers and other Safety Analysis Engineers. The work is mainly carried out on our internally developed programs BISON and POLCA-T.
