Overview Starting pay for this position is $16.83/hour. POSITION SUMMARY: The Safety Companion II role is a dual role providing continuous virtual or 1:1 at the bedside observation for patients qualifying for advanced fall prevention measures or advanced safety precautions. The Safety Companion II is responsible for verbally redirecting the patient from engaging in at-risk behaviors. The Safety Companion II will assist the bedside treatment team with light patient care duties such as repositioning, ambulating, bathing, feeding, and other activities of daily living. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts and communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care. Duties may vary according to department expectations and supportive services needed for specified group of patients in assigned areas, for all age groups, which will contribute to the comfort and well-being of the patient. The Safety Companion II will remain knowledgeable and supportive of patient and patient confidentiality and related hospital policies. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.; Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.; Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School/GED Experience: 1 year work experience in a service industry Prior nursing assistant experience Working with behavioral health and geriatrics population Other skills/knowledge: Proven ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions Efficiency in multitasking, with the ability to prioritize simultaneous situations Excellent telephone etiquette, with the ability to communicate compassionately and professionally with patients, using microphone and headset.
