- Conduct safety observations/audits periodically to evaluate safety rule compliance and the adequacy of safety procedures and take corrective action as needed to insure safe work practices are observed in accordance with Company, state and federal regulations and rules.
- Conduct accident and near-miss investigations to develop a means to eliminate accidents and injuries.
- Serve as a primary resource person in the region to provide prompt and accurate response to questions concerning safety policy and procedures.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current and pending safety issues and concerns for possible problems and solutions that occur within the industry.
- Serve as a liaison with Corporate Safety and Industrial Health in Human Resources. Maintain records of accidents/injuries within the region and provide timely reports as required by management and in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, TNRCC, and other state and federal entities.
- Ensure that all employees receive safety training mandated by OSHA that is commensurate with employee's job responsibilities.
- Coordinate wellness and health fairs throughout the region.
- Develop and maintain safety literature, material and video for safety meetings and assist in presenting safety meetings as required.
- Communicate with safety professionals with other utilities throughout Texas and the U.S. to ensure our company provides current training and safety programs to our employees.
- Select, evaluate and purchase safety equipment and supplies. Provide instruction in the use, inspection and maintenance of related equipment.
- Lead district service centers and regional safety committees in developing and implementing meaningful activities and action plans to address safety incidents and promote a strong safety culture.
- Perform safety observations and assist with the management of at risk behaviors.
- Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.
- An Associate’s degree in electrical technology and 5-7 years of Transmission substation or line experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of Transmission substation and or line experience is preferred.
- Must have strong computer and communication skills.
- Public speaking is required along with the expectation to improve with each passing year.
- Possess a demonstrated commitment to safety by a continuing education in courses or seminars related to safety.
- Work to assist with the improvement of a strong safety culture
Salary: $94,284 - $125,712

This position is approved for West Texas Adder
This position will be responsible for the Odessa and Pecos region and will office at the Odessa Transmission SVC.Summary
This individual will coordinate and initiate safety and training programs in the region to eliminate accidents and/or injuries through effective education and training. Responsibilities also include maintaining state and federal records and monitoring current and pending regulations to support Transmission Operations. Continuous education and training is necessary for this position.
