- Salary - £40,000
- Based on working 2 days per week
- 15 appointments in the morning session, 13 appointments in the afternoon session (10 minute appts).
- We have an allocated 'on call GP' each day, and two paramedics who do the majority of the home visits. This means when you are doing normal sessions, any additional visits are built into the morning, rather than being 'extras'.
- On Call doctor each day required to stay until 6:30pm. Any GPs working a normal day leave when the work is finished, which can be earlier.
- A 'fair share' of daily paperwork (lab reports, prescriptions, clinical letters etc.) with appropriate limits to protect capacity.
- We are a very busy practice, but we try our best to avoid extras where possible.

What do we need?
We are looking for an engaged, positive, friendly, hard-working and resilient individual to join our team at Cheadle Medical Practice.
It is a requirement for the role that you can be employed under the ARRS scheme, and that you meet all criteria for this.
We're working in an area with a very busy day-to-day operation, so we need someone flexible and resilient. We operate a system of triage designed to protect GPs from unnecessary workload.
The post is for two days per week. Currently we allocate one On Call doctor per day, so you would be expected to be part of this rota.
In our PCN, we have access to a Pharmacy Hub, First Contact Physio, Social Prescriber, Care Coordinator and Visiting Service, as well as Workflow Optimiser and Medical Reports Lead to help reduce GP workload.
We are happy to be flexible where we can around working days, but generally we are looking for applicants to be available on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

About us
Cheadle Medical Practice sits in a desirable area close to junction 2 of the M60. Our PCN has delivered one of the best performing vaccination programmes in the region, and we have very high rates of QOF achievement.
We have around 11,750 patients on our list, so we are a busy practice. Our partners and management team are highly focused on using technology to allow colleagues across the building to work smarter, and this is an ongoing journey for us.
We are a training practice so have experience in helping to guide newer members of the profession through the early stages we also have a number of highly experienced colleagues so the role would be suitable for someone at any stage in their qualified GP career.

Job responsibilities
Provide medical services for the practice population to a high standard, including day-to-day activities such as surgery consultations, telephone advice, telephone consultations and home visits and appropriate administration to ensure accurate records, patient continuity and quality of care.
Comply with the requirements of the practices General Medical Services/Personal Medical Services (GMS/PMS/APMS) contract, Enhanced Services contracts, educational/training delivery contracts and private contracts.
Adhere to the principles of good medical practice.
Provide high quality medical services to patients registered with the practice.
Provide a full range of services in line with the requirements of the GMS/PMS/APMS) Contract and Enhanced Services Contracts.
Refer patients as appropriate and in accordance with local procedures.
Undertake duties such as prescription signing, prescribing reviews, telephone advice, duty doctor, in accordance with the rota
Undertake clinics, post-natal checks, child developmental checks as agreed or required.
Manage long-term conditions in accordance with practice and national clinical guidelines.
Prescribe generically and in accordance with the practice formulary.
Provide appropriate health promotion advice to all patients
Ensure good clinical governance is part of patient care and other practice activities.
Adhere to practice guidelines, policies and procedures
Practice evidence-based medicine.
Take ongoing responsibility for patients with difficult and complex problems including consistent follow-through.
Participate in audit and quality improvement processes.
Maintain clinical records (manual/electronic) in line with good practice and in accordance with practice procedures including appropriate coding as agreed in the practice.
