Job summary
Tower House Practice is a 8 Doctor GMS training practice with a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Salaried GP to join our existing team in the old town of Runcorn. Due to the retirement of two long-serving GP partners, we are looking to employ two Salaried doctors.
We are a high achieving Practice in a compact urban area with a fully integrated team working from a large health centre. We offer a great working environment with a fantastic support team of staff. We are a part of Runcorn Primary Care Network and GP Health Connect Federation. List size of 13063 patients.
The appointed doctor will be requested to provide patients of the Practice all necessary and appropriate general medical services of the type usually provided by general medical practitioners. This will be as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Requirements:
Full registration with the GMC
Membership of a Medical Defence organization
Vocational training certificate or equivalent
Currently on performers list or valid to be registered if newly qualified
UK driving licence
Evidence of annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
Enhanced DBS
Commitment to good quality healthcare and ability to work within a team.
Main duties of the job
Consultations and where appropriate, physical examinations for the purpose of identifying or reducing the risk of disease or injury.
The doctor must be available at agreed times during the agreed sessions per week for surgery consultations and telephone advice.
Consultation is all face to face in the surgery. The doctor will be expected to carry out a fair share of the home visits on days worked.
Advice to patients concerning general health, and the significance of diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol consumption and drug misuse.
Arranging vaccination or immunization against infectious diseases in accordance with national guidelines and policies.
Referral where appropriate for the provision of any other services under the NHS Act.Referral to other agencies e.g. Social Services where appropriate.

Other clinics according to the interests of the post-holder.
Hold a personal list of registered patients to maintain continuity of care.

We are looking for 2 GPs for 8 and 4 or 2 x 6 sessions to start 1/9/2025 - we are willing to be flexible around days/times of work.

We are a high-achieving practice serving a patient list of 13,063, operating from a large health centre with a fully integrated multidisciplinary team. We are part of the Runcorn Primary Care Network and GP Health Connect Federation.
As a training practice, we are dedicated to the education and development of GP trainees and medical students, providing a supportive learning environment to nurture future healthcare professionals. We also have experienced GP appraisers within the practice, supporting continuous professional development and career progression.
Our team includes experienced Practice Nurse Prescribers, a Clinical Pharmacist, a Paramedic, a Mental Health Worker, District Nurses, Health Visitors, and a Community Matron. Our administrative and clerical team is long-standing and highly supportive. We have a strong reputation for quality, achieving high results in the Quality and Outcomes Framework, and our last CQC inspection rated us as Good overall, with some aspects rated Outstanding. We also scored the highest in our region for patient satisfaction, reflecting our commitment to excellent patient care.
Our GPs take an active role in the ICB and PCN, with Dr Joseph serving as Clinical Lead for Halton Place ICB and our Practice Manager acting as a Director for GP Health Connect.
We use the EMIS system for patient records and clinical management.
