      Job summary

      Cardinal Medical Practice has a fantastic and highly rewarding opportunity for a dedicated and motivated Salaried GP to join our progressive and innovative training practice, which encourages the development of all staff and where you will have support and investment in your career progression.

We are flexible and keenly support and promote staff work-life balance and development, currently supporting 4 Nurses on various stages of the Nurse Practitioner pathway and modules.

      Main duties of the job

      - 4-8 sessions available, flexible on days considered

      - Patient list of approx. 30,000 patients

      - Manageable workload with 10 minute appointments and home visits

      - Duty and Supervision sessions

      - Specialist interests supported and encouraged

      - SystmOne and AskMyGP clinical software

      About us

      Located on the outskirts of Ipswich town centre, Cardinal Medical Practice is the largest medical practice in Suffolk and was formed as a result of a merger between Chesterfield Drive, Deben Road and Norwich Road Surgeries. The practice is vastly dedicated to offering high quality care to a population of approximately 30,000 patients.

      The practice has a clinical team of 4 GP Partners, 8 Salaried GP's, 2 GP Registrars, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Physicians Associates, Practice Nurses, Nurse Associates, Healthcare Assistants, Care Co-ordinators and additional healthcare professionals. The team is supported by Management and a large administrative team.

      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      The post holder will report to the Partners (clinically) and the Practice Manager (administratively).The following are the core responsibilities. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

      - The provision of services commensurate with our core contract

      - Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

      - Effective management of long-term conditions

      - Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

      - On a rotational basis, undertake the duty doctor role

      - Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

      - Work collaboratively, accepting an appropriate pro rata share of the practice workload

      - Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

      - Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

      - Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

      - Ensure compliance with the appraisal and revalidation process

      - Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

      - Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making relevant contributions.

      - Adhere to practice protocols and policies and participate in policy reviews when required.

      • Are you someone who is looking to contribute to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with our friendly and welcoming team?
