      Job summary

      We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed salaried sessional GP to join our dedicated practice team. We are a well-established practice based in the heart of Letchworth Garden City with a combined list size of approx. 18,000 patients.

      Letchworth town offers direct train links to both London and Cambridge, each taking only approximately 30 minutes to reach. Schooling in the town is very sought after and leisure facilities are outstanding.

      We pride ourselves on delivering professional medical care in a friendly environment while striving to meet all the challenges of modern General Practice. We are members of the local Primary Care Network providing extended services as a hub to the local community.

      Main duties of the job

      Provide clinical care to patients, including consultation sessions, telephone triage, econsults, correspondence, results, medication reviews, prescription signing and other clinical administration, medicals, reports, home visits, surgery meetings and on-call (excluding out of hours).

      Adhere to the highest personal and professional standards set out by the GMC and to put individual patient care as your priority.

      Work with Lead GP and Practice Manager to support the development, delivery and review of the agreed surgery action plan, patient satisfaction levels, QOF, enhanced services, safeguarding of patients, KPI targets, CQC, PNC DES activities, resources and profile and cost management.

      Provide colleague clinical support to Birchwood and Sollershott Surgeries GPs, ANP, Paramedic, Practice Nurses, HCAs, trainees and other healthcare colleagues.

      Work closely with the primary health care team in delivering clinical care.

      Actively participate in regular clinical Practice meetings.

      Ensure ongoing CPD to keep abreast of new clinical developments.

      Ensure that mandatory training is up to date.

      Ensure engagement with NHS annual strengthened appraisal, PDP production and GMC revalidation.

      Document and report significant events and matters relating to clinical governance to the Lead General Practitioner and Practice Manager.

      At all times to behave as a professional clinician and act as ambassador for Birchwood and Sollershott Surgeries and 12PointCare.
