The 4 partners, and wider team, have an excellent supportive reputation, with very high retention rates across all of Tollgate, including many of our doctors who trained within the practice. We recognise that looking after each other is key to delivering high quality clinical care, plus improves our personal and working lives. We have embarked on a practice garden project to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients, and are also part of the Keeping Well initiative, funding treatments and days out to increase the wellbeing for all of our staff to recognise the efforts we all put in. We are a strong practice, and are proud of the work we do within our PCN.

Tollgate Medical Centre is proud to have been recognised by the HSJ awards, as a finalist for Workforce Initiative of the Year 2020, in pioneering methodologies for taking the pressure off doctors whilst continuing to provide excellent patient care. This attracted the attention from NHS England and a visit to the practice from the Prime Minister. We are delighted to have been accredited the Gold Award for Pride in Practice and supporting LGBT+ patients, and also a Gold Award for Green Impact for Health.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
