      Job summary

      This job is for a fixed term period of 6 months.

      This is job is for between 4 to 6 sessions per week.

      We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed GP to join our respected, patient centered and friendly team of 6 Partners, 7 Salaried GPs, 6 Practice Nurses with excellent support staff.

      Main duties of the job

      • Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions
      • Performing routine health checks and screenings
      • Prescribing medications and managing treatment plans
      • Providing preventative care and health education to patients
      • Referring patients to specialists and coordinating follow-up care
      • Maintaining detailed and accurate patient medical records
      • Participating in quality improvement activities and clinical audits
      • Collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care
      • Managing medical emergencies within a primary care setting

      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      • Face to face consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
      • Making professional autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
      • Assessing the health needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
      • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
      • Providing counselling and health education.
      • Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other providers as appropriate.
      • Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
      • Collecting data for audit purposes.
      • Compiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
      • Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
      • In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

      • GMC full registration.
      • Membership of a recognised defence union (MPS/MDU)
      • Currently on the performers list and never been removed from a performers list for detrimental reason.

      • Use of EMIS PCS clinical system.
