      Job summary

      We're excited to offer a salaried GP role to join our team under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). The post is for 6 sessions per week and is initially a fixed term contract until 31st March 2026 with expected extension, following confirmation of funding. and a possibility of a permanent post thereafter. To be eligible you must be a newly qualified GP and have qualified within 2 years.

      Main duties of the job

      Core responsibilities of the Salaried GP.

      The delivery of highly effective medical care

      Prescribing in accordance with the accepted prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.

      Effective management of long-term conditions

      Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

      Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards

      Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

      About us

      Ladybarn Group Practice is a large training practice of 12,800 patients and are looking to recruit a salaried GP under the ARRS role for 6 session. The successful applicant will be joining a sociable, ambitious, and progressive GP Team of four partners , two practice managers and seven salaried GPs.

      We adhere to BMA safe working in general practice principles with capped workload and are always interested in changing practice to work smarter not harder!

      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      In accordance with the practice timetable, the post holder with make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including telephone triage, surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

      Making professional, autonomous decision in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation or external organisations.

      Assessing the health needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

      Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.

      Contributing to QOF requirements and Manchester Standards and recording data appropriately.

      In consultation with patients in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health related illnesses.

      Screening patients for health education.

      Admitting and discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.

      Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.

      Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding handwritten prescriptions whenever possible).

      Prescribing in accordance with the accepted prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.

      Take a lead role in some aspects of the clinical work within the team, for example: co-ordinating aspects of governance, QOF, enhanced services, CPD and keeping clinical protocols up-to-date.

      In general, the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care, as set by Royal College of General Practitioners, General Medical Council, all other Royal colleges and council applicable to the staff within the practice, Department of Health, NHS England, OCCG and all other regulatory and standard setting organisations.
