Job summary
Norfolk Park Medical Practice are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated GP to join our small friendly team. We are looking to cover 3 sessions over 3 days to include Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Main duties of the job
The practice works on a same day triage service, where clinicians manage their own patient list, with a mixture of telephone calls and face to face appointments.
- We are a systmone practice.
- The practice is well supported well by The Community Nurses, The Primary Care Mental Health Team, a Pharmacist and a First Contact Physiotherapist
- We operate from a purpose built modern building with dedicated staff parking.
- CQC rated the practice good at their last inspection.
- We are an active member of our PCN
About us
Norfolk Park Medical practice is a friendly GP surgery close to the city centre, with an increasing list size of 5400 patients. We have a well established and stable team of GP's, ANP, Practice Nurses and Clerical Staff.
We place a high value on teamwork, mutual support and learning.
We have fortnightly clinical meetings and monthly practice meetings.

Job responsibilities
To work autonomously adhering to the GMC standards for good medical practice, responsible for the provision of medical services to practice population. We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent service of care whilst complying with the NHSE Contract, this involves working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
The following are the main core responsibilities of a salaried GP. These will vary as workload dictates.
Provision of care as detailed in the Primary Care Contract.
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
Effective management of acute and long term conditions.
Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptions and other administrative tasks.
Undertake Triage and other duty doctor roles
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
Accepting an equal share of the practice workload by working collaboratively.
Work towards innovative practice and quality improvements within the practice.
Assist in the work towards completing QOF across all practices.
Attend and contribute to practice meetings as required.
Support practices with enhancing income and reducing unnecessary expenditure.
Complete home visits.
Participate in practice audits as requested.
Participate in the review of significant and near miss events applying a structured root cause analysis approach.
