      Job summary

      We are looking for a 12 month temporary GP to cover 6 sessions which are all in core hours. We are keen to develop and increase the services that we offer to our patients and would offer mentorship & training to our new GP and value any suggestions for future progression.

      Main duties of the job

      12 month Temporary Salaried GP to see patients face to face and via telephone for 6 sessions a week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

      The services we offer (subject to Covid 19 regulations) are:

      Joint injections (including referrals from other practices)

      Minor surgery in a fully equipped minor op room

      Comprehensive family planning service including nexplanon / IUD fitting and removal and provision of emergency contraception

      Baby Checks

      Physiotherapy

      Phlebotomy

      Smoking Cessation

      Health Trainers

      Exercise Classes delivered by Inspiring Healthy Lifestyle trainers in our fully equipped Gym

      About us

      We currently have 10 partners and 6 salaried GP that are supported by 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Phlebotomist and a large administration team. The clinical system is Systmone and the practice uses the AskMyGP online consulting platform.

      Pennygate is a large busy practice in the borough of Wigan with almost 19,000 patients; we are a training practice currently supporting ST3, ST1 and FY2 doctors as well as nursing students. We consistently achieve excellent QOF and Primary Care Standards results and met all CQC standards.
