- In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Assisting in achieving QOF/Network DES and other contractual requirements.
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- Working in accordance with NCL ICB and Enfield GP Federation on the Long Term Conditions programme model of care

Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a motivated, committed, and enthusiastic GP to join our dynamic team at The Bincote Surgery.
We are offering up to 6 sessions per GP per week, for a rate of £11,250-£11,750 per session, depending on experience.
We are a friendly and supportive practice who place patient care and evidence-based medicine at the forefront of our clinical practice.
Main duties of the job
In general, the candidate will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with working within Primary Care as a General Practitioner:
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
About us
Bincote Surgery is located in a leafy suburb in Oakwood/Winchmore Hill North London with nearby access to tube and train services and within catchment areas of several high performing schools.
We are part of Enfield South West Primary Care Network, and North Central London ICB. We are actively involved with Enfield GP Federation.
We currently have 7 GPs - 1 GP Partner and 2 salaried. We employ a practice nurse, HCA and Pharmacists in our clinical team, along with supportive staff from the PCN including Remote Pharmacists, Care Coordinators, Social Prescriber's and 2 Paramedics.
We have 5 clinical rooms with a population of 6800 patients PMS Practice. Excellent IT infrastructure: Emis Web, EPS electronic prescribing, Docman 10, eRs, accuRx, and ICE/Tquest links to Barnet/Chase Farm and North Middlesex Hospitals and are strong advocates of the NHS application.
