      Job summary

      Your role

      • Salaried GP (full or part time)
      • 6 - 8 sessions per week - 2 part time GP's would be considered
      • Duty doctor pro rota
      • Specialist interests encouraged and you will be welcome to get involved in training of GP registrars.
      • Starting date - June/July 2025
      • Pay scale £10.750 per session per Annum

      We are a high earning , GMS, Training practice based in Wrexham North Wales. Wrexham is a lovely town situated between Cheshire and the Welsh hills and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. We are within easy access of Chester and the North West of England.

      We are a large, friendly, dedicated practice with a determination to provide high quality clinical care for our patients, at the same time we are highly committed to looking after our doctors as well. Due to a rapidly expanding practice population, we are interested in forward thinking, team oriented doctors to join us.

      • List size 14200+
      • Excellent team consisting of 5 GP partners, 2 - 3 registrars, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 4 Practice Nurses, and 2 HCA, 4 letter readers and 2 read coders
      • We have Admin staff/nurses who have been trained up to do specific tasks to ease the doctors workload like prescribing team, read coding team and documents team.
      • We have a signposting service for on the day appointment requests which is managed by our Medical reception team and ANPs.
      • We provide a wide range of facilities in house including,
        • minor surgery, joint injections, contraception (coils/implants, Anti coagulation services and DVLA medicals etc)
        • We use Emis Web, Docman and Accurx
        • We are a training practice for GPs- currently have 2 GP registrars. We also train pharmacists and nurses to become Independent prescribers.

      Job responsibilities

      Job requirements

      • Registered with GMC and needs to be on the GP register (or will be on the GP register fairly soon.)
      • Will have to register / be registered with the Welsh Performers list
      • Usual revalidation / licence to practice requirements need to be fulfilled.
      • Contract for employment will be based on modified BMA contract.
      • In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, face to face & telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion
      • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
      • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
      • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
      • Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
      • Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QUAIF requirements.
      • Delivering enhanced services.
      • Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).
      • Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
      • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
      • A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
      • Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
      • Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records.
      • Contributing to the summarising of patient records and Read-Coding patient data.
      • Attending training and events organised by the Practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
