Job Summary:

Horizon BCBS seeks a self-directed Sales Intern for the Small Group and Mid-size team with a passion for collaboration, analysis and creative problem-solving. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects, work closely with Horizon staff as well as outside vendors and brokers. Intern will also working closely with assigned manager and mentor as well as gain exposure to Horizon leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating and refining forecasting and reporting tools.
• Supports Sales in its efforts to sell new business as well as service, convert, and add additional lines of business to existing accounts.
• Participate in various internal and external project workgroups.
• Responds timely and pro-actively to account or broker telephone inquiries by contacting the appropriate operating areas throughout the enterprise.
• Assists in the procurement of information from Consumers, brokers and groups to complete and verify sale documentation.
• Assists in processing paperwork relating to the prospecting, enrollment, and/or termination of accounts.
• Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by management that will support the Small Group and Mid-size team.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of Healthcare industry preferred.
• Project Management
• Business Acumen
• Strong Computer Skills, Microsoft Office products to include (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).
• Business or Operations major preferred

Skills and Abilities:

• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, in particular the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
• Requires strong PC skills including ability to manipulate spreadsheets and word documents as well as working knowledge of PowerPoint.
• Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work in both a team environment as well as independently.
• Able to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task

Location: Wall Office (Hybrid)

Schedule: 8am-5pm (9 hour work day with lunch)

Duration: 11 week program (2024 Summer)
