      Job Description

      Havertys Furniture is opening a New Store in Southaven, MS. Based on our successful growth.

      The Retail Home Furnishings Sales Consultants is the perfect position for you if, enjoy making money while connecting with other people, and working in a fun, fast-paced environment.

      We are offering up to $12,000 guaranteed salary for the first 90 days of employment. New hires will be guaranteed to make no less than $4,000 per month for their first 3 months. We anticipate new hires will be making a least this amount, or more, after 90 days due to our continued record-breaking sales.

      Havertys provides paid training, no prior sales experience is required; we will ensure you are well trained.

      What you do:

      At Havertys, we are driven to delight our customers by offering personalized design, quality home furnishings, and an outstanding customer experience. We put our customers first in all we do, so you will make connections and discover needs. You will work in collaboration and partnership with other Team Members and the Designer in your store to ensure that your client’s vision is brought to life. You will build and maintain your relationship with your client to ensure their needs are met for now and years to come.

      Your responsibilities:

      • Provide an elevated level of service to our customers from contact through delivery and beyond
      • Build relationships with customers both independently and in collaboration with our Designer who is offered through our complementary Design program
      • Reinforce customer selections and assist in completing the look of their rooms
      • Provide product, service, and finance expertise based on your customer’s needs
      • Utilize our company provided tablets and proprietary technology for customer communication
      • Engage with our clients using Havertys customer relationship system and provide professional follow up

      Successful Havertys Sales Consultants:

      As a Havertys Sales Consultant you must be highly driven and self-motivated to achieve individually while being a supportive team member as you contribute to overall store success and customer satisfaction. You must also be highly organized and able to maintain a responsive follow-up schedule. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to connect and establish relationships with a diverse group of customers. Successful Havertys Sales Consultants excel in creating connections with our customers, understanding their needs, and help to bring the vision of their home to life.

      Specific qualifications for the role include:

      • College education preferred, High School / GED or equivalent required; or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
      • Positive and engaging personality
      • Creative flare and energetic attitude
      • Ability to overcome customer objections
      • Familiarity with a broad range of furniture styles and products preferred, but not required
      • Ability to work a retail schedule
      • Computer proficiency including email experience required; knowledge and use of MS Office software preferred; Tablet/iPad operation abilities strongly preferred
