Position Opportunity
The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing new
business opportunities across the foodservice and convenience retail channels. This role will focus on
building strong relationships with key distributors, operators, and retail partners while working crossfunctionally to introduce and place Alamance Foods’ product portfolio in new accounts.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
• Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and pursue high-potential new business opportunities
within foodservice distributors, convenience store chains, and food retail operators.
• Sales Pipeline Development: Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective clients; drive deals
from initial outreach through closing and onboarding.
• Customer Engagement & Solution Selling: Conduct discovery meetings, understand customer
needs, and deliver compelling sales presentations that align with buyer goals and product
solutions.
• Channel Strategy Execution: Collaborate with marketing, R&D, and operations to support channelspecific product positioning and promotions that drive growth.
• Distributor & Broker Management: Engage with distributor partners and broker networks to
expand reach, improve product visibility, and strengthen route-to-market.
• Sales Reporting & Forecasting: Maintain accurate tracking of sales activities, forecasts, and
performance metrics in CRM systems; regularly report progress to leadership.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to
identify gaps and opportunities for innovation and growth.
Qualifications
Education/Training/Certifications/Related Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA a plus.
• 5+ years of sales or business development experience in the food & beverage industry, with a
focus on foodservice or convenience retail channels.
• Demonstrated success in landing new accounts and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of foodservice distributors, convenience store buying groups, and
regional/national accounts.
Knowledge/Skills Experience:
• Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Travel Requirements: Travel up to 40–50% (United States)
