- Knowledge of products, categories, competitive conditions and market trends and be able to translate into an action plan to grow the customers’ business
- Drive distribution of new products and new sizes of supplier portfolios
- Ability to recognize, respond and communicate sales opportunities and threats
- Ability to overcome objections, ask for the sale and submit an accurate order
- Ability to take accurate inventories and recommend appropriate stock levels
- Ability to open new accounts by supplying the Credit Department with the appropriate paperwork
- Ability to pre-plan sales, territory and account specific objectives towards sales quotas and distributions
- Maintain weekly pre-plan for assigned territory
- Establish and maintain good customer relations to create respect and rapport with those customer accounts
- Contact all assigned accounts on a regular and scheduled basis
- Adhere to federal, state and company regulations that govern our industry
- Follow up on customer issues and concerns and follows through on customer commitments
- Manage accounts receivable and collections to company standards in cooperation with the company Credit Department
- Maintain and update master sales route lists which include buyer information, sales call times, call back times and merchandising detail
- Maintain a sales and display kit with all the necessary pricing, sell sheets, samples and point of sale material
- Complete, communicate and submit all reports and surveys for territory to management in a timely manner
- Required to work (regular or overtime) or provide on call support on any day (morning or evening), may include nights, weekends and holidays
- Additional duties as assigned by management
- Solicit for the pour (rail) items
- Pitch, plan and implement drink features and party nights
- Design, maintain and update restaurant drink menus to feature the company’s products
- Conduct staff trainings at customer accounts as needed
- Coordinate tasting at customer accounts as needed
- Effectively utilize point of sale such as table tents, bar cards, bar kits and permanent signage
- Present retailer sales presentations to attain sales and merchandising goals
- Solicit, install and maintain floor displays and point of sale
- Manage shelf and cold box space to company standards
- Achieve retail ad support to company standards
- Suggest and maintain appropriate shelf pricing to market conditions
- Intermediate computer skills
- Must be able to work well independently and in the context of team environments

- Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with company policies, practices and within the law
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Must be proficient in various technology platforms such as Apps, smartphone functionality, etc.
- Strong understanding of wine and spirits industry
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred
- Experience of one (1) to three (3) years of sales experience preferred
- Certified Specialist of Spirits (CSS), Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) or Certified Wine Educator (CWE) preferred
- Experience in a distribution and/or sales environment preferred
- Valid driver license, insurance and satisfactory driving record required
