  Job Description

  Join our innovative team as a Sample Prep Technician. We are a leading international group of life sciences companies offering a wide range of analytical testing services. Our expertise spans multiple industries, including food, environment, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, forensics, advanced materials, and agroscience research. We are also a global leader in genomics and clinical study support. We are currently expanding our facility in Indianapolis and looking for a dedicated Sample Prep Technician to join our team long-term.

  Responsibilities

  • Apply GMP/GLP standards in all areas of responsibility.
  • Perform sample preparation tasks to ensure sample homogeneity, including labeling, transferring, use of liquid nitrogen, milling, blending, weighing, and sample disposal.
  • Communicate sample information effectively.
  • Report discrepancies to appropriate personnel and assist with problem-solving.
  • Handle internal customer inquiries and requests.
  • Work with customer service coordinators to resolve client or sample issues.
  • Introduce and develop improvement ideas with the assistance of others.
  • Learn sample preparation procedures involving larger equipment.
  • Perform equipment maintenance, basic repairs, and place work orders.
  • Participate in cross-training between food and dietary supplement preparation procedures.
  • Demonstrate and promote the company vision.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner.

  Essential Skills

  • A.S. Degree in Life Science or 6+ months of sample handling experience.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Suite, SAP, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Desire to learn and grow in a new role.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Food handling or food safety experience.
  • Regulatory experience.

  Work Environment

  This position is based in a clean lab environment where you will be provided with PPE, including a lab coat, gloves, and goggles. Core working hours are from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, with flexible start and end times ranging from 7am to 9:30am. The role includes paid holidays and aligns with the PTO plan of internal employees, offering approximately one week of PTO during the assignment.

  The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00
