Working alone, or in conjunction with other Sanitation Technicians, disassemble, clean and reassemble processing equipment, while evaluating the progress of the work in assigned cleaning areas.
Interact with the Sanitation Supervisor to prioritize specific projects.
Safely handle and apply cleaning and sanitizing chemicals per Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain sanitation equipment and materials in a secure, clean and organized manner.
Comply with all food safety and quality policies and procedures.
Document all cleaning and sanitizing activities on appropriate cleaning and sanitizing checklists.
Execute plant processing set up for the Production team, based on direction from the Production Schedule and the Sanitation Supervisor.
Assist in recycling and general waste management.
Availability to work second shift during the week and various hours, as needed, on weekends.
High School Diploma or GED highly preferred.
Ability to perform basic math skills for calculating chemical concentrations.
Ability to read and write in English to complete documentation and understand Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Data Sheets.
Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, climb, stoop, kneel and stretch while executing the job.
Ability to work in wet or humid conditions while performing the duties of the job, and occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions while performing certain job duties.

Prior experience in food plant sanitation a plus.

Job Responsibilities
As part of the Quality and Food Safety team, the Sanitation Technician, working under the guidance of the Sanitation Supervisor, is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment, performing environmental cleaning, and safely using cleaning and sanitizing chemicals. Sanitation Technicians play a key role in maintaining an exceptionally clean and food-safe production environment. Perform daily duties in a team setting through Food Safe Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
