      Job Title: Operator Assistant

      We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an First Operator. As First Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery while maintaining maximum productivity in our production process. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow within our organization while contributing to our overall success.

      Responsibilities:

      • Operating machinery and producing quality material while maintaining maximum productivity and efficiency of the production process.
      • Wet end of the saturator is responsible for;
        • mixing resin to treat paper
        • pressing and splicing large rolls of paper
        • unloading and moving large rolls of paper via forklift and clamp truck.
        • Ability and willingness to train and fill in for other positions within the department and facility
        • Ability to accurately read gauges and measuring devices.
        • Ability to read and understand daily run schedules and communicate plan with team members
        • Adhere to the principles of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
        • Perform regular housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean and free of debris, including sweeping, mopping, and removing waste materials.
        • Maintain proper paperwork as required by position and department; quality, productivity, audits, checklists, etc.
        • Maintain proper speed to achieve production goals.
        • Works to ensure line is meeting minimum scrap levels as defined by production.
        • Identify quality issues on raw materials.
        • Safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items throughout the manufacturing facility.
        • Load and unload trucks, ensuring the proper handling and positioning of materials to prevent damage. When needed
        • Conduct regular inspections of forklift equipment to ensure it is in proper working order and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
        • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
        • Maintain accurate inventory records by documenting and recording the movement of materials using appropriate tracking systems or paperwork.
        • Organize raw materials and finished goods in designated storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and organization for easy retrieval and inventory control.
        • Adhere to the principles of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
        • Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
        • Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate material movement and ensure timely delivery to production areas.
      • Provides for and maintains a safe work environment with proper training and communications.

      Qualifications:

      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred.
      • Proficiency in basic math skills and the ability to use tools such as a tape measure, caliper, and banding equipment.
      • Ability to operate machine tools and equipment, as well as hand tools and utility knives.
      • Physical fitness to withstand the demands of the job, including constant standing, moving, bending, and reaching during an eight-hour shift.
      • Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds.
      • Willingness to wear company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) such as high visibility clothing, steel-toed safety shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection.
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
      • Self-motivated and flexible in adapting to changing work requirements.
