      Position Overview

      Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Coordinator, Property Management, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Journeyman Plumber is responsible for performing routine maintenance and installation functions on plumbing equipment, installations and components; and performing other related duties as assigned.

      Experience

      • Five (5) years’ experience in the plumbing/steam fitting trade, preferably in a hospital setting.

      Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

      • Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
      • Successful completion of a recognized Certificate Program in Plumbing.

      Certification/Licensure/Registration

      • Valid Journeyman Plumbers License as issued by the Manitoba Department of labour or equivalent.
      • Valid Back Flow Prevention Certification.
      • A or B Gas Ticket.

      Qualifications and Skills

      • Ability to read blueprints, schematic drawings and diagrams.
      • General knowledge of plumbing codes and steam principles.
      • Mathematical skills.
      • Good communication skills.
      • Good interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
      • Steam fitter.

      Physical Requirements

      • Physically able to carry and move loads up to 34 kgs.
      • Manual dexterity.
