For more information, visit www.pepsico.com Functional Description: This role reports to the Information Technology organization and will be working directly with a team of technology specialists and business innovators to develop industry-leading systems and solutions for Frito-Lay. In recent years, the supply chain has undergone immense and rapid change driven by changes in consumer behavior, business growth and emergent technologies. To continue to succeed in this environment, we’re driving a multi-year journey to digitize manufacturing sites and enable automated data gathering and insights so that our business can effectively navigate future change with speed and agility. As a Data Science intern, you will play a critical role in advancing the agenda of Digital Twins for Manufacturing sites. Specifically, you will be working with IoT technologies, Computer Vision and cloud analytic platforms to gather data and create the following: visual representations of manufacturing sites, virtual sensors, and AI models to solve concrete business problems. Responsibilities Work with large datasets to identify and visualize trends and new business insights Solve for complex problems in manufacturing sites by leveraging IoT platforms, computer vision and by developing AI/ML models Partner with strategic partners to expand digital capabilities Develop scalable tools and solutions to drive automation and optimize manufacturing operations What we’re looking for: Must be passionate about technology and able to apply your knowledge and technical skills to solve real-life business problems Be focused and results driven with a high sense of ownership Have a solid understanding of IoT, AI/ML, and cloud technology Capable of writing clean, organized machine learning code using standard software engineering methodologies Must be able to effectively communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Qualifications Master’s degree completed within one (1) year of internship completion Development experience in Python, Java, C or equivalent programming language Experience and or familiarity NumPy, Pandas, Pytorch, PostgresSQL, MSSQL, MySQL Expert in mathematical models underlying data science methods, understanding the trade-offs between different solutions Experience in designing systems to solve business problems EEO Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
