- Apply basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
- Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
- Assist in the design and modification of Navigation systems.
- Identify and repair equipment malfunctions, including troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating circuits.
- Perform maintenance and calibrations on electronic instruments and equipment.
- Test and evaluate electronic equipment and systems.
- Maintain maintenance and repair records on equipment, inventory of parts, components, and supplies.
- Provide user support for various computer labs and resolve network connection and application software problems.
- Read schematics, diagrams, and engineering instructions for assembling electronic units.
- Train and guide junior technicians to assure proper operation and maintenance of equipment and systems.

- High School diploma or GED.
- Four (4) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.
- Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program.
- Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
- One (1) year of practical experience in electronics installation.
- Note: Experience may be concurrent.
- Strong understanding of electronic principles, circuit analysis, troubleshooting techniques, and repair procedures as it relates to Navigation Systems.
- Ability to diagnose and solve complex technical problems.
- Ability to interpret data, analyze problems, and identify solutions.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize work, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and precision.
- Knowledge of and adherence to safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- US Citizenship required.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
- Active Interim Secret or final Secret clearance is preferred.

We are currently seeking a motivated Electronics Maintenance Technician II to join our talented team. In this role, you will design, install, diagnose, maintain, and repair electronic equipment, while also performing maintenance and calibrations on electronic instruments, often with moderate latitude for independent judgment.
Work is performed on site in Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.
This position is contingent upon award news Spring of 2026.
