      An opening is available for SCADA Technician in the Utility Services Department. Overall duties include, but are not limited to the installation, administration, and maintenance, of Utility wide Electric, Gas, Water, and Wastewater control and monitoring to include security and access control. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of field concepts, practices, and procedures for instrumentation along with strong analytical and professional abilities within both office and field environments. This position requires strategic input on all planned projects and installations, drawing upon experience and judgement while working with others to plan and accomplish goals.

      The SCADA Technician is expected to review plans and evaluate services for documentation of projects, tracking and reporting. The maintenance of SCADA equipment such as RTU?s, PLC?s, computers and networking related systems along with some database administration, including programming support, and working with TCPIP, Modbus, and other technology and electronics protocols. Proficient knowledge of digital versus analog systems and conversions is required. Knowledge in e-prom and chipset flashing for upgrades, including, but not limited to proficiency with computers, scanning devices, multi-meters, hand and power tools along with the use of shop equipment are all required. This position provides technical support for the Control Center, Maintenance, SCADA, and Security, coordinates projects and scheduling of events through the SCADA supervisor to ensure proper operation and staffing levels for all services. SCADA Technician(s) are responsible for maintaining all equipment and services within the Facilities Department, and may be required to operate and administrate to SCADA 2014 Server R2 and InTouch Graphics platforms, Avigilon security, and continental Access control systems as part of the daily routine.

      Regular hours of this position are currently 7:00 a.m. ? 3:30 p.m., Monday ? Friday; stand-by and on-call with weekend work is also required.

      Required Skills, Education, and Certifications:

      May require, but not limited to:

      • A bachelor?s degree in area or related fields or 2 ? 4 years of related experience;
      • Working knowledge of:
        • Windows base, UNIX, Linux, and DBA, Wonderware, Foxboro, and Invensys services as they apply to DU systems;
      • Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, and Pneumatic controls education/experience;
      • Experience and/or knowledge of analog circuitry.
      • Must have full dexterity of hands.
      • Must be able to walk up and down stairs.
      • Must be able to climb and descend ladders.
      • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
      • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
      • Must be able to work in all weather and temperature conditions for extended periods of time.
      • Must have valid driver?s license and be able to obtain CDL (Commercial Driver?s License) learners permit within 6 mos. and CDL license in 12 mos.

      Pay Range:

      $20.00 - $39.00/hour
