      Waste Connections of Canada, the leader in non-hazardous solid waste management in North America is looking for a Scale Attendant / Admin Person to join our team in Navan , ON. We are looking for a safety inclined, energetic, autonomous and proactive team player capable of making a difference in his/her team and community.

      Monday - Friday - 7:00AM - 4:00PM

      Every second Saturday 8am – 1pm with every second Monday off.

      Pay: $21.06

      Position Summary :

      Scale Operator :

      • Operate the weigh-station scale; weighing trucks, and trailers IN and OUT over the scale
      • Entering appropriate data into computer (product, weight, customer name, etc.)
      • Communicate with drivers, through speaker system, to determine type of material being dumped, etc.
      • Process payment from customers, as needed
      • Interfacing with company drivers, outside haulers, and 3rd party vehicles.

      Administration & Payables :

      • Responsible for ensuring the division’s PO log is accurate and complete and that all documents are approved and submitted to District Controller for approval.
      • Completes the payment net p-card system for GL coding, PO number and invoice number.
      • Submit batch of all non-p-card invoices for approval.
      • Ensure that all invoices are stamped, coded and PO number recorded on invoice.
      • Maintain and organize files with invoices until invoice transaction appears in payment net.
      • Process p-card payments on accounts that are set up as a p-card vendor and not set up for automatic payments.
      • Processes invoices against payment net transactions recording the transaction date in the PO log.
      • Prints PO logs for signatures on a monthly basis for signatures and maintains districts signed copies.
      • Maintains and files all invoices for the district.
      • Completes monthly fuel report.
      • Reconciles vendor statements.
      • Enters all invoices for checks and mails checks.
      • Processes customer refunds and mails checks.
      • Checks division batches for accuracy and reviews the transactions in payment net.
      • Performs other accounting duties as requested by the Controller.
