Job Description
- Req#: 1572900
- Coordinate and prepare monthly schedules and daily sign-in sheets for nurses and nursing assistants.
- Take call-ins while on duty and find replacements for staff shortages.
- Update the master schedule with changes on a daily basis and provide copies to employees as it is updated monthly.
- Maintain a record of absenteeism and point accumulation, reporting to the Director of Nursing.
- Relay all Leaves of Absences, special requests, vacation and holiday requests, and requests for schedule changes to HR.
- Obtain appropriate approval for time-off requests, shift trades, and vacation requests.
- Attend weekly staffing meetings and report staffing summaries, open positions, medicare hours, and PPD hours to the Administrator, Director of Nursing, and HR Manager.
- Review daily punch details, compare it to the master schedule, make necessary changes, review float reports, and submit completed details to the HR Director for payroll.
- Revise forms as needed.
- Maintain a list of employee telephone numbers.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly staffing summary reports.
- Keep an inventory of all nursing supplies and order accordingly monthly.
- Keep the supply closet stocked and organized.
- 1 year of medical office experience
- 1 year of medical terminology experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in documentation review, file management, and coding practices within a healthcare setting
