- Req#: SCHED032268
- Schedules surgery, office and ancillary department appointments.
- Completes prior authorizations and referrals.
- Coordinates with various departments, physicians offices and patients regarding procedures and tests.
- Provides administrative and secretarial support to the surgery clinical staff.
- Handles database management, record and file keeping and answers incoming calls.
- Other job duties will include, but not be limited to clinical coding and patient billing.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Skills adequate to perform the above.
- Two years scheduling experience required in a physician clinic.
- Two years of registration experience required.
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Surgery scheduling and registration preferred.
- Demonstrates attention to accuracy and detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality in dealing with others, in person, electronically and on the telephone.
- Must have typing (55-60wpm), filing, ten-key and computer skills.
- Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required.
- Able to perform work accurately and within rigid time frames.
- Basic knowledge of accounting procedures.
- Demonstrates the ability to navigate several computer applications and the ability to operate all technical office equipment.
