Job Description
- Req#: MAC00187
- Work within Mine Planning Department utilizing Deswik Software (CAD & Deswik IS etc.)
- Design 3-Month Mining Shapes for cut and fill and long-hole stopes. Update rolling 3-Month plan, ensuring key-drivers align with budget and-or forecast. (development, drilling, production (ore/waste), capital vs operating, backfill etc.)
- Update weekly plans, co-ordinate with multiple departments to align schedule (operations, maintenance, mill etc)
- Regular underground visits and inspections
- Strong focus on safety
- Other duties and projects as assigned
- Overseen by Superintendent Mine Planning for status progress and coordination with greater Tech. Services Department
- Key relationships vary based on role within each Tech. Services department (i.e. survey, ventilation, planning, geology etc.)
- BSc in Mining Engineering (or relevant field)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Working knowledge of mine design and scheduling software (Deswik, AutoCAD, Amine etc.)
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- Schedule: 4 days of work, followed by 3 days off or 5 days of work, followed by 2 days off at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You should have expertise in Mine Scheduling across diverse time horizons, such as weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual planning. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
