Primary Responsibilities:
- Schedule appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
- Communicate with healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities and staff.
- Provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and confirm appointments with patients and/or their families.
- Perform insurance verification and pre-authorizations as necessary.
- Manage referral work queue, enter patient demographic information, and scan documents into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of related work experience, including data entry.
- Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology.
- Experience with ICD 9 or 10 and CPT coding.
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Reside within a commutable distance to Owensboro, KY.
- Have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
