      An exciting opportunity exists for Administrative Officer Level 3 to join the SCHN virtualKIDS service. virtualKIDS is a dynamic, multidisciplinary service offering on site 24/7 specialty paediatric virtual care to children and young people, both locally and throughout NSW. The aim of our service is to ensure children and their families have access to the right health care, at the right time and in the comfort of their own home. We offer support for children and young people with acute conditions, as well as chronic and complex health care needs. Essential criteria – excellent IT skills, communication skills and recent administrative experience. The Administrative Officer is a key role within the virtualKIDS team, excellent interpersonal skills are essential with a multidisciplinary team approach. The successful candidate will be required to carry out clerical duties and demonstrate this within the virtualKIDS team.

      This role currently requires the candidates to work a rotational roster with 8-hour day and afternoon shifts across seven days. We have permanent full-time and part-time hours available. The team work onsite, currently at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, with the future potential to expand to an additional site at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.

      1. Extensive experience working as a level 3 Admin assistant within Health or similar providing an effective secretarial service for a busy department
      2. Ability to use IT systems including iPM, eMR, outlook, word and excel
      3. Well-developed organisational skills required to set priorities and monitor workflow
      4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and other work skills required for a range of operational administrative tasks
      5. Proven ability to exercise initiative in decision making in day to day operational matters and applying established work practices
      6. Ability to perform work under broad supervision with some independence
      7. Capacity to supervise or train other clerical staff

      Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
