- Assist Education Managers, Museum Educators, Administrators, Docents, and GFS staff with PreK-12 programs, group visits, and tours.
- Support the STEAM and Wellness initiatives aimed at school engagement.
- Compose interdepartmental communications to keep Grounds For Sculpture teams informed about scheduled events.
- Help facilitate various informal education programs for PreK-12 students.
- Undertake special projects assigned by the Manager of School and Group Visits.
- Interest or experience in the fields of STEAM, art, horticulture, or education.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and a creative team player.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) practices.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of art materials and techniques is a plus.
Grounds For Sculpture (GFS) is building a more equitable institution. We are seeking motivated individuals with a passion for art and/or horticulture to join our internship program. This 10-week internship will offer hands-on training and a chance to become an integral part of our Education Department.
About the Internship:
Position Overview:
The School and Group Visit Intern will work with Grounds For Sculpture's (GFS) Education Department to support PreK-12 school programs, group visits, and tours. The internship focuses on developing and experimenting with new tour types that enhance access to and understanding of collections, exhibitions, and horticulture to improve the visitor experience.
The intern will collaborate with Education Managers, Museum Educators, Administrators, Docents, and GFS staff to enhance accessible and inquiry-based learning. Additionally, the intern will assist in piloting and supporting STEAM and Wellness curriculum initiatives for school engagement.
