    • Meet regularly with Teachers, Teacher Assistants and specialists to discuss individual student's modifications or adaptations, ongoing learning issues, interventions or problems. Work collaborative to ensure individual student's needs met.
    • Register new students and conduct orientation sessions for students and parents.
    • Assist students in selecting appropriate courses. Assist in determining the number of courses and schedule needed for new school years.
    • Act as a liaison between students, teachers and parents to resolve conflicts.
    • Counsel students whose behavior, school progress, personal/social issues regarding home, family and peer concerns indicate need for assistance.
    • Lead group sessions to enhance social development of students and provide peer support.
    • Process college and scholarship applications. Write letters of recommendation as requested.
    • Actively participate on problem solving and intervention teams to facilitate early involvement and resolution to learning or behavioral problems.
    • Monitor academic and attendance records in order to identify potential at-risk students or lack of credit to achieve graduation, and notify administration.
    • Research, analyze and organize problem solving, discipline, attendance and academic data to formulate plans for students and communicate to staff.
    • Assist in planning and participate in various information sessions for parents and students regarding topics such as course selection, careers, scholarships or post-graduate education.
    • Coordinate transition of students into high school, collecting information and files from other schools.
    • Administer appropriate academic tests to students as needed.
    • Assist with graduation planning and organization.
    • Establish a safe atmosphere conducive to a positive learning environment. Act as role model on appropriate behaviors ensuring social and emotional development is progressing normally.
    • Description: Perform functions to promote student learning through academic, career and social development. This is a Long Term Sub position. Approximate date of assignment 8/14/25-10/1/25.

      Job Summary:

      Qualifications: The qualified candidate will have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an endorsement in school counseling.

      Rate of pay: $310/Day

      Working Conditions: High School.
