      The Schnee Learning Center is a credit recovery, drop-out prevention high school located in Cuyahoga Falls. The students are in grades 9-12 and are at risk of dropping out of high school. Schnee is a public community school sponsored by the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce Office of School Sponsorship.

      The school counselor will be the only school counselor at Schnee Learning Center and is responsible for building relationships with students and parents/guardians, creating/revising the school’s master schedule, individualized student success plans, and college and career planning utilizing the Ohio Means Jobs website, scheduling and counseling students, as well as mediating student issues. The school counselor will work in collaboration with the testing coordinator to order, plan, organize, and administer all State of Ohio required tests and Renaissance STAR assessments. A qualified candidate will need to be experienced in working with students who are in crisis/traumatized and candidates should be well versed in the mental health issues affecting adolescents. The school counselor will also be responsible for planning and implementing small-group sessions related to social-emotional learning and will be an integral part of our PBIS program. We are seeking an intrinsically-motivated, empathetic, and passionate person who desires to work with our students who need credit recovery and are at risk of dropping out of high school. The ideal candidate will also be willing to accept responsibility and be flexible in helping in all areas that may impact our educational program. The successful candidate must bring a high level enthusiasm, energy, and passion for "at-risk" youth, be extremely patient, and be willing to learn and work diligently at motivating and inspiring others to be successful in life and in educational and work-related endeavors.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Currently hold an Ohio School Counselor License
      • Minimum 3 years school counseling experience
