    • Master of Arts degree or equivalent is required.
    • Hold a Colorado Principal License.
    • At least three years of school level administration experience.
    • Experience as an elementary, middle school or high school teacher.
    • Trained in Data Driven Instruction
    • Knowledge of Colorado School Law, District Policies, and school reform.
    • Experience with English language learners.

      Position is for the 2025-2026 school year.

      POSITION: School Director/Principal

      LOCATION: Mapleton Expeditionary School of the Arts (MESA)

      PAY RANGE: Admin Salary Range, $98,500 - $145,000

      SCHOOL YEAR WORKDAYS: 220 Days

      REPORTS TO: Executive Director

      SCHOOL DESIGN OVERVIEW:
      Mapleton Expeditionary School of the Arts is a 9th-12th Expeditionary Learning (EL) school, recognized for its emphasis on the digital and visual arts. From animation to advertising, photography to pottery, the visual arts are woven into the delivery of all content standards. MESA students demonstrate achievement every day in the following areas: mastery of knowledge and skill, character, and high-quality work. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the Digital Media and Communications Pathway. This pathway will prepare students for computer careers.
      Community partnerships help students experience and explore the value of and opportunities within a mastery and passion for the visual arts. Students graduate from MESA with a portfolio of work to support them in their post-secondary adventure.
