- General knowledge of the basic principles and theories of the School Nutrition Program.
- General knowledge of federal and state laws and policies relating to the School Nutrition Program.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and recommend policy and procedural guidelines related to the School Nutrition Program.
- Ability to instruct food service staff on School Nutrition Program requirements. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with facility administrators, food service staff, School Nutrition Program Administrator, staff members, and other pertinent personnel.

This temporary position is located in Raleigh, NC - Wake County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $27.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Public Safety. This position is located at 3010 Hammond Business Place, Raleigh, NC 27603.
General knowledge of the basic principles and theories of the North Carolina School Nutrition Program and general knowledge of federal and state laws and policies relating the School Nutrition Program; Monitor facilities, in conjunction with School Nutrition Program Administrator, to complete federally mandated facility on-site School Nutrition Program reviews; in ensuring the facilities maintain the required documentation required by School Nutrition consultants; Provide maintenance of system files for the School Nutrition Program JJ software drives. Responsible for setting up and ensuring proper maintenance of folders/files for facilities including HACCP, forms, menus and production record folders; Perform foodservice staff training and provide technical support to foodservice staff on software drives and job responsibilities; Review draft policies, requirements and procedures for consistency and compliance with federal, state and agency guidelines; Assist School Nutrition Director in preparation of food contract/bid documents yearly. Review bid documents for completeness and compliance with federal, state and agency guidelines; Assist School Nutrition Program Administrator in approving weekly food orders and in ordering USDA commodities yearly; Assist School Nutrition Program Administrator in compiling data and preparing reports to be submitted on-line annually to NC Department of Public Instruction for United States Department of Agriculture reimbursement; Assist School Nutrition Program Administrator in creating forms and updating policy requirements and procedures that enable foodservice staff to meet the requirements of the School Nutrition Program; General knowledge of accounting practices and procedures, including working knowledge of the North Carolina EProcurement System and Accounting System.Assist School Nutrition Program Administrator with ensuring compliance with School Nutrition Local Wellness Program as well as being a member of the School Nutrition Local Wellness Program; Maintains integrity and accountability of the Departments School Nutrition Program through compliance with all federal and state regulations and Department School Nutrition policies; Maintain Food Safety
Certification/Instructor/Examination/Proctor status; Attend NCDPI workshops, trainings and professional growth meetings pertaining to the School Nutrition Program; Considerable knowledge of modern office procedures, practices and equipment, general knowledge of personnel policies and procedures; Statewide travel is required to complete mandatory monitoring and training at division facilities; Manage special projects as assigned by supervisor; Assume any responsibilities as designated by the Departments School Nutrition Program Administrator.NOTE: Qualified applicants must meet and CLEARLY reflect on their application training and experience and all knowledge, skills, abilities, and any experience or competencies specified in the posting and/or supplemental question(s) to be considered. Master's degree in dietetics, public health nutrition, or nutrition from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of related experience and holding the credential of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD or RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; or Bachelor s degree in dietetics, public health nutrition, or nutrition from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of related experience and holding the credential of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD or RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.For technical issues with your application, please call the GovernmentJobs.com Applicant Support Help Line at 855-524-5627.
