    • Proven leadership experience providing students with high-quality experiences to provide a safe and orderly learning environment.
    • Experience conducting observations and designing instructional and behavioral plans.
    • Strong professional and ethical characteristics as identified by NASP.
    • Master’s Degree and an endorsement as a School Psychologist.
    • An understanding of social networking, online interactions, and current trends in student social networking.
    • Mastery of psychological, socio-cultural, and educational testing practices and methods.
    • The ability and knowledge to recommend innovative intervention methods, resources, and high impact practices and information about what works to address the factors impacting student performance.
    • Ability to lead discussions, meetings, and guide group consensus for various demographics.
    • Demonstrable knowledge of Virginia Assessment Systems, practices and protocols, and instructional technology.
    • District-wide supervision and implementation psychological assessments, FBA’s, BIP’s, and other screenings/ evaluations.
    • Collaborating with individuals and teams of teachers to fully utilize/implement current student counseling practices.
    • Serve on County Crisis team; work with building level administration to coordinate crisis plans.
    • Evaluations and recommendations of current and new intervention strategies, resources, and other student support services.
    • Partnering with administrators in coordinating mental health standards, intervention programs, curriculum and other system wide responses.
    • Working with staff members to analyze multiple layers of data, drilling down to essential areas of strengths and identifying areas of difficulties, recommending methods of enhancing current practices.
    • Realize significant improvements in school climate and student well-being.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned by Direct Supervisor.
    • POSITION SUMMARY: Madison County Public Schools is seeking a School Psychologist. The successful applicant should possess intellectual depth and breadth, a strong work ethic, a capacity for communication and leadership, noteworthy educational and leadership experience, and an appreciation of innovative practice. The candidate must also possess the capacity to inspire the school community through visualizing new possibilities for a global education in an environment of innovation, collaboration, and mutual respect. This person will collaborate with teachers and division leadership, as well as other stakeholders to help maintain a mentally healthy educational environment and ensure students are provided with 21st century psychological, social, and educational resources.

      REQUIRED:

      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
      • District-wide supervision and implementation psychological assessments, FBA’s, BIP’s, and other screenings/ evaluations.
      • Collaborating with individuals and teams of teachers to fully utilize/implement current student counseling practices.
      • Serve on County Crisis team; work with building level administration to coordinate crisis plans.

      SALARY RANGE: $65,633 - $79,862 depending upon experience. This is a 10 month/200 day contract.
