Job Description

- Conduct weekly individual and family therapy for each student
- Monitor classroom behavioral interventions for each student
- Provide case management and social services for each student
- Monitor psychotropic medications
- Record all contacts in progress notes
- Complete all assessments, treatment plans, daily mental health notes, and other reports required for each student
- Develop initial individual and family therapy contacts for each student
- Assist with crisis intervention and special activities as per schedule
- Provide consultation to classroom staff
- Attend weekly clinical and business meetings; present cases to be discussed as pre-assigned
- Attend weekly classroom team meetings and, if scheduled, prepare and present all necessary therapeutic and treatment information
- Attend all relevant trainings, including in-services
- Meet regularly with supervisor(s) to evaluate each student
- Carries out functions and responsibilities as it pertains to giving orders and conducting evaluations of clients in restraint/seclusion as per Seneca Center Crisis Intervention Policy Section 8
- Perform all other duties as necessary for the good of the agency as instructed by supervisor
- Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, or psychology
- Eligible to register with the California BBS
- Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred!
- Experience working with youth in a mental health or education setting is strongly preferred
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to the growth and development of an engaged program culture
- TB test clearance, fingerprints, and COVID-19 vaccination
- School based schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8 AM- 4 PM
- 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and additional paid school break days
- Starting at $65,412 -$79,412 per year, with actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
- $2000 sign-on bonus (for new Seneca employees in this position)
- $4000 salary increase upon licensure
- Opportunity for a salary increase upon passing a bilingual language proficiency exam

Seneca is hiring a School Based Therapist to guide grades 2-12 students at Catalyst Academy in El Sobrante, CA. The Therapist provides therapeutic, case management and consultation services for a caseload of children and families. In addition, each Therapist is linked to a classroom as the classroom therapist. Therapist duties include facilitating groups in the classroom, helping to create and implement individualized behavioral plans for each child, and assisting the classroom staff in understanding clinical issues and creating a therapeutic milieu.
