      Scientist, Bispecific Antibody Technologies for Immuno-Oncology Therapeutics

      Gaithersburg, MD

      Join our Biologics Engineering team at AstraZeneca, where we are pushing the boundaries of science to deliver life-changing medicines to patients. We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Scientist to enhance our multispecific antibody-based platform technology efforts.       Accountabilities:

      In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse group of scientists across all therapeutic areas to ensure timely progress in research projects and drive technological innovations. You will conceive, design, and execute the engineering of innovative therapeutics with improved efficacy, selectivity and developability. Your responsibilities will also include biochemical, biophysical and functional characterization of antibodies and complex modalities. You will also prepare, analyze, and present data internally and externally.

      Essential Skills/Experience:

      • MS in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Immunology or other relevant scientific field with 0-3 years of relevant experience or BS with 4+years of relevant experience in antibody engineering, T cell engagers and/or bispecific design.
      • Experience in molecular biology and antibody engineering, including; design, expression, purification and biochemical/biophysical characterization of various bispecific antibody formats.
      • Experience in flow cytometry-based instruments and data analysis programs.
      • Experience in tissue culture techniques and functional cell-based assays
      • Strong motivation, attention to detail, ability to think independently and fully integrate into a high achieving team environment.
      • Track record of strong problem solving and organizational skills.

      Desirable Skills/Experience:

      • Experience in engineering antibodies with improved properties (e.g., affinity, solubility, and other attributes related to developability)
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills and effective presentation of complex scientific data to cross-functional and senior management.
