- To interpret, organize, execute and coordinate research assignments.
- To formulate and conduct research on problems of considerable scope and complexity.
- To explore subject area and define scope and selection of problems for investigation through conceptually related studies or series of projects of lesser scope.
- Plan, coordinate and conduct scientific research.
- Design and perform experiments and collect data.
- Train and supervise trainees/employees.
- Manage the laboratory.
- Share and present data.
- Prepare and submit manuscripts.
- Prepare and submit research grant applications.
- Maintain equipment and software; troubleshoot and report issues.
- Order and maintain lab supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Doctor of Philosophy, D.V.M. or M.D. degree in a related field and six (6) years of related experience
- OR M.D. and Master's degree and four (4) years of related experience
- PhD in Biological Sciences plus 7 years research experience in neuronal cell death and stroke.
- Experience with identifying cell death signaling in brain in neuronal injury and neurodegenerative diseases, aiming at identifying novel therapeutics.
