Job Summary:
FLIR Integrated Imaging Solutions (IIS), a division of FLIR systems, headquartered in the Greater Vancouver area, BC, addresses mainly 2 growing markets: Machine vision for the largest part of our activities, and People Flow Analytics.
Regarding Machine Vision: we provide to machinery manufacturers or system integrators imaging products and solutions that are used for quality inspection, measurement, traceability, vision guided automation and robotics, as well
as intelligent traffic systems. Regarding People Analytics: we are currently focused on Retail Analytics, and we provide imaging products and solutions that are used to measure retail customers traffic, customers queuing time, customers flows in the retail space; Essentially our People Analytics products help to replicate the equivalent of web analytics in the physical world. Our Software Development team is a group of diverse, fun individuals passionate about software development, testing and automation. As leaders in the Machine Vision industry, we strive to keep up to date with the latest industry standards and prioritize quality in every aspect of our work. We are looking for a Software Developer in Test Co-op to work with us on test case execution and automation improvements for our Machine Vision SDK and GUI components, for a minimum of 8-months.

The Role:
Our team is self-organizing and highly collaborative. We believe in others good intentions and approach team interactions with compassion and empathy. Each member of the team has direct input in the stories and tasks we commit to. We strongly believe in the Scrum methodology and are constantly improving ourselves and our processes to make sure what we're doing works for us. You will work closely with your team and stakeholders to plan, develop, and improve software testing and processes for our main Machine Vision SDK, GUI applications and utilities, and corresponding camera drivers. As you gain experience, you will grow your skills and expand your responsibilities beyond manual testing and automation to also include test development. To stimulate creativity and innovation we offer up to two days of “innovation time” per month to explore new technologies or product ideas. Excited about a newly discovered technology, process or other improvement? Share it with your fellow engineers during “demo days”; choose to give a presentation, run a live demo, or suggest a new format that best suits your needs.Technologies we use:
Our tests are written primarily in C++, as well as in C, C#/.Net and Python to match the languages supported by our SDK. We support Windows, Linux and macOS and use various scripting languages to run our test automation infrastructure.We are interested in candidates from any background so long as you have some technical experience and an eagerness to learn. Salary for this position will be determined based on candidate’s qualifications, experience and overall fit for the role. The indicated salary range serves as a general guideline and may be adjusted accordingly
