Job Description

- Must be a registered voter in the State of Georgia
- Must be able to work as needed (some days up to 10-12 hours)
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Must have the ability to read/write/speak the English language. Bilingual is helpful but not required
- Must be able to stand, sit, bend, and manipulate documents
- Depending on area of assignment, a valid driver’s license is required
- Basic computer skills are needed
- Must not hold public office, be a candidate for public office, or an immediate relative of an elected official where the relative is a candidate
- At least ten years must have passed since satisfying all terms of any Felony conviction
- Election experience is preferred but not required
- Satisfactorily complete a background check and MVR (depending on area of assignment).

The Cobb County Elections and Registration Department is currently accepting applications for seasonal workers for the 2024 Election cycle (January – December).
Your schedule is based on the needs of the assigned area within the Elections Department, and you may be assigned to work beyond standard office hours times during early/advance voting, on election day, and days after the election.
These positions are paid on a biweekly basis and are not eligible for any benefits (health, pension, or paid leave/holidays).
Dedicated candidates to be considered for these positions, must possess, and uphold the Department’s high standards of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information, and absolute keen attention to details with data entry and/or research.
Candidates must be able to adapt to a sometimes highly intense, fast-paced environment, completing various tasks on time and on schedule.
Clerks – $17.00 per hour:
Absentee (By Mail or In Person) - Assigned to work at any of our Advance Voting locations or Main Election Office. Job duties may include sorting and processing mail, answering phones, processing applications for Absentee Ballots by Mail, issuing ballots, voting in-person voters, various clerical and data entry tasks, accepting returned ballots, and preparing ballots for tabulation.
Prep Center (Warehouse) - Assigned responsibilities involving the preparation of supplies and equipment for Federal, State, and Local elections. Job duties may include sorting and organizing supplies, taking inventory of various items, conducting Logic & Accuracy Testing of equipment, delivering supplies and equipment to voting locations, assisting with Election Night Drop-off, typical warehouse duties, and providing miscellaneous support services to the Elections Department. A valid driver’s license is required.
Registration – Assigned responsibilities involving voter registration, provisional voting research, customer service, and other related projects. Job duties may include processing voter registration applications, customer service for citizens/voters via phone and in-person, election night provisional tasks, voter registration data entry tasks, and other clerical duties.
Training (Facilitator) - Assigned responsibilities related to facilitating required classes for poll workers before each election. Job duties may include assisting in set up and prep of classrooms, preparing training materials, familiarity with election laws, procedures, and course content, gathering and processing paperwork, assisting with class procedures, providing feedback to training supervisor, and resetting materials and classroom after training. Prior experience working at a polling place or in the election’s office preferred.
Assistant Managers (Absentee) $17.25 per hour:
Assigned to work at any of our Advance Voting locations or Main Election Office. Job duties may include assisting the manager with supervising and managing the operational functions of the advance voting location, assisting in Supervising up to 10+ election staff at assigned location, assisting in setup/teardown of facility supplies and equipment, voting in-person voters, various clerical and data entry tasks, accepting returned ballots by Walk-in and drobox, monitoring, and troubleshooting voting equipment, enforcing State and Federal Election Laws. Prior experience working at advance voting or in the election’s office preferred. These positions will be required to work 40+ hours during advance voting weeks.
Managers (Absentee) $17.75 per hour:
Assigned to work at any of our Advance Voting locations or Main Election Office. Job duties may include managing and maintaining the operational functions of the advance voting location, serving as a liaison to Advance In person Supervisor, maintaining schedules and staffing for assigned location, supervising up to 10+ election staff at assigned location, directing the setup/teardown of facility supplies and equipment, voting in-person voters, various clerical and data entry tasks, cancelling ballots in the Georgia Registration Voter System (GARVIS), accepting returned ballots by walk-in and drobox, accurately recording numbers from voting equipment and complete daily recap sheets, monitoring and troubleshooting voting equipment, enforcing State and Federal Election Laws. Prior experience working at advance voting or in the election’s office preferred. These positions will be required to work 40+ hours during advance voting weeks.
Lead Facilitators (Training) $17.50 per hour:
Assigned responsibilities related to facilitating required classes for poll workers before each election. Job duties may include assisting in set up and prep of classrooms, editing scripts for class, facilitating training classes, observing participants to ensure comprehension of material, preparing training materials, familiarity with election laws, procedures and course content, gathering and processing paperwork, assisting with class procedures, answering questions from participants, providing feedback to training supervisor, and resetting materials and classroom after training, Prior experience as a clerk (facilitator) preferred.
