      Position: Seasonal Mower

      Department: Grounds: Physical Plant

      Campus: North Manchester/ Koinonia Nature

      Target Hire Date: March 2024

      Position Overview:

      This position will work from approximately April 1 to September 30 (roughly 6 months) or as needed. This person will be responsible for assisting the Grounds Supervisor in the maintenance of the Campus of Manchester University and the Koinonia Environmental Center.

      Essential job functions:

      • Mow, weed eat, and maintain approximately 50 acres of grounds
      • Operate mowing equipment of all types including riding mowers, push mowers, weed eaters, blowers, and tractors.
      • Drive Automatic Pickup Truck AND Manual Dump Truck with trailer containing mowing/groundskeeping equipment to Koinonia

      Secondary Job Functions

      • Work with Grounds Crew on the North Manchester University Campus as needed
      • All other work as assigned

      Qualifications:

      • A commitment to fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion among students, faculty, and staff.
      • Ability to operate motorized lawn mowing equipment
      • Ability to work with University age students
      • Driver’s license that would allow you to pull a trailer with equipment
      • Ability to back a trailer
      • Ability to drive a manual Dump Truck

      Work schedule: This position works approximately 40 hours per week (or as needed), generally Monday through Friday, starting between 6:00-7:30am dependent upon weather and time of year.
