Job Description

- Assist in and perform tasks such as mulching, raking, plant bed preparation, weeding, watering, planting, and pruning.
- Assist in care of turf including mowing, soil prep, sowing, aerating, mulching, application of amendments and irrigation.
- Assist in irrigation of indoor plant collections and other conservatory tasks.
- Assist in and perform tasks involved in operation and care of hand- and power-gardening tools and equipment.
- Operate motorized equipment incidental to the performance of duties.
- As directed, perform any other task related to horticulture needs, cleaning of grounds and equipment.
- Some experience and/or education in gardening work during spring, summer, and/or fall, including work with power tools, in addition to experience in caring for trees, shrubs, perennials, and lawns and/or some experience and/or education related to indoor plant care
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather
- Ability to lift 50 pounds

Reports to: Forepersons & Director of Horticulture
FLSA Status: Seasonal, Non-exempt
Compensation: $19 per hour
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week; full-time Monday- Friday (April 2024- December 2024)

Under supervision, the assistant gardener assists in and performs basic landscaping, gardening, and related work.
