    • Assists in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials. Each program shall use instructional materials developed by the Department of Career Tech or materials approved by the appropriate program administrator.
    • Submits student accounting and completes other required reports on the specified due date(s).
    • Accepts responsibility and arrives punctually for activities and duties as assigned.
    • Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and parents concerning both the academic and behavioral progress.
    • Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with co-workers.
    • Is actively involved in professional growth activities.
    • Plans a program of study in cooperation with the administration that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
    • Creates an effective classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students within the limits of the resources of the district.
    • Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required through report cards and parent-teacher conferences.
    • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct; and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure; and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
    • Maintains appropriate emotional stability, physical health, personal appearance and personality.

    • Sponsors an active and appropriate career and technology student organization as an integral part of the program.

    • Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, District policy and administrative regulations.
    • Follows guidelines set by the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, Careertech Rules for Career and Technology Education, Title 780 Oklahoma Administrative Code.
    • Abides by all district, federal and state laws, policies and procedures.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

      Qualifications
      Credentials: State Certificate to teach in specific position.
      Education: Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education or a related field.

      Training or Experience Required: Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels preferred.

      Job Goal (Purpose of Position): Performs skilled/professional- level tasks under limited supervision to provide children/students with the proper teaching techniques/environment for learning. Establishes lesson plans, grades, and accomplishes curriculum objectives to enhance each student's self-esteem and increase personal growth. In addition, meets with parents and other staff to enhance learner outcomes. Utilizes discretion, ingenuity and independent judgment due to the variety of challenges of the job. Since there may be several ways to solve a problem, employee is free to choose the solution.
