Job summary
Are you looking for a new challenge? If so, then we have an exciting opportunity for you in our friendly Secretarial Team.
Reporting to the Secretary Team Leader, you will assist in specific administrative duties and offer general support to aid the smooth running of the department.
This role will include a portion of time working within the administration team to improve practice resilience and cross cover. The work involved will be similar to the secretarial team and include, but is not limited to, scanning, indexing and workflow.
The successful candidate will be IT literate, have a minimum of 2 years' experience working in an administrative role, and have excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you will take on administrative tasks. You will be expected to use your initiative to make decisions and deal with patients and staff.
The post holder will need to confidently process referrals, post and emails, private medical requests, document scanning, booking admin appointments and utilise key skills such as effective communication and time management.
This role requires a person who is innovative, flexible, committed and who can work independently and resourcefully as part of the team, to ensure tasks are completed accurately within a timely manner.
Always maintain confidentiality (regarding both patients and staff)

The Practice serves approximately 31,000 patients from our 4 surgeries in Earley, Lower Earley, Winnersh and Wilderness Road.

The successful candidate will be happy working with a variety of IT systems. They will possess good IT skills, be accurate in their work, have a professional telephone manner and be able to handle confidential information with complete integrity.
They will also be able to work to deadlines, without constant supervision and have a willingness to learn, to be involved in and to accept change as part of the job, within a busy team environment.
