      Job Accountabilities: Essential

      1. Schedule s al l test in th e Respiratory Therapy Area for inpatient s and outpatients.

      • Uses Epic in scheduling all patients to insure proper Medical Necessity.
      • Explains ABN forms to patients that require it
      • Answers patient questions about ABN forms prior to signing. Also to answer any questions about the testing procedures that the patients or their families may have

      2. Answer Incoming calls, always using only the best customer service skills.

      • Triage and direct calls appropriately. Take messages as necessary.
      • Calls may also require finding and faxing reports, and checking schedules as well as scheduling patients and giving instructions.
      • Have a good working knowledge of the PC as well as other types of office equipment. Have a comprehensive understanding of Medicare Guidelines, especially as they relate to Medical Necessity.
      • Proficient use of the Internet is order to access the Adminastar web site for updates on a monthly basis.
      • Use discretion when discussing patient matters.
      • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

      6. Assist with clerical needs of the department.

      • This may include copying and mailing of tests, filing reports, faxing reports, sorting and distributing mail to other parts of the department.
      • Maintains testing logs, accumulates statistical and quality data, completes and submits monthly statistical and quality data on time to the appropriate areas.
      • Maintains proper inventory of office supplies and medical surgical supplies as needed.
      • Assist in maintaining patient flow through the department.

      7. Demonstrate a commibnent to professional growth and competence.

      • Attend educational meetings and classes.
      • Attend and participate in staff meetings.
      • Participate in other projects and activities of the organization.

      8. Support organizational policies and procedures regarding dress codes, identification badges, work schedules, and PTO time.

      • Promote a professional self image at all times.
      • Maintain a positive attitude toward all as well as maintaining a high level of commitment to standard practices at HMHP.

      9. Participate in own performance appraisal.

      • Identify goals and review progress with manager or clinical coordinator at least annually.

      Job Accountabilities: Other

      Assists in other areas of the department.

      • Cleans work area as necessary
      • Completes work left from previous shift as necessary
      • Reports to coordinator any suggestions for positive changes or recommendations within departmental policies and procedures.
      • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs other related duties as assigned.

      EDUCATION:

      • High School graduate (Required).
      • Advanced training/ knowledge of medical terminology.
      • Computer proficiency required.

      EXPERIENCE,KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:

      • Previous patient scheduling experience required.
      • Proficient in MS Word.
      • CPT coding experience preferred.
      • Cardiology experience preferred .
      • Demonstrated customer service skills.
      • Clinical secretarial and registration experience preferred .
      • Proficient use of medical terminology required..

      • Ability to schedule patients appropriately, based on departmental policy.
      • Recognize and understand urgent requests, and respond appropriately.

      The nature and frequency of interpersonal human relations skills required by the job. The extent to which the job requires cooperation and tact in meeting or influencing others by phone, correspondence, or personal contact.

      • Must maintain good communication skills with those in the department as well as those with whom we are in contact with by telephone.
      • Requires understanding others' perspectives to reach decisions regarding scheduling, as well as other decisions.

      Full Time - Scheduled for 40 Weekly Hours
