      Sector Marketing Strategist – Consumer

      Join our Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team and you will directly support and promote our brand and reputation. Through internal communications, public relations and corporate communications, you’ll provide a wide range of marketing and communications services to internal and external audiences. These include current and future clients, our current and future employees, alumni, regulators, the media and the communities within which we operate.

      The opportunity

      As a strategist on EY’s Consumer marketing team, you will lead all integrated marketing efforts in the US for the consumer products sector. Specifically, you will be part of a team that helps raise awareness of the firm’s experience in solving complex issues in the sector. This role will report to the US Consumer Marketing Leader, have a US-wide scope and will be expected to collaborate closely with our global industry and service line centers.

      You will be expected to work closely with the practice and our business development professionals to develop and execute marketing strategies that support go-to-market objectives and help achieve revenue goals. You will be responsible for a wide range of cross-channel marketing activities, including development, management and execution of strategic plans, thought leadership and creative content, event development and management, and the use of digital, email and social media marketing all aligned to the audience journey. You will work closely with EY leaders in the sector to help drive their executive brand presence. You will be expected to work as part of a team that collaborates with the sector, practice, industry and other firm leaders to develop market-facing initiatives that help drive EY’s overall strategy around key business issues our clients face.

      Your key responsibilities

      • Assist marketing lead with development of the annual marketing strategy and implementation of campaigns, as well as help devise and manage annual marketing budget
      • Collaborate with leadership to identify our buyers’ needs and wants as well as where they are in the funnel, developing programs that engage those buyers differently in the market and drive decisions that lead to increased impact and deliver against business and Americas marketing priorities
      • Manage and execute plans that incorporate the full marketing mix: Creative ad development, thought leadership, web strategy, email marketing, paid media, strategic events, and client-facing materials
      • Leverage your personal leadership and relationship development skills to effectively, navigate a matrixed origination to conduct marketing strategy discussions with firm leaders, using a data-driven approach to advocate for a recommended approach
      • Work closely with subject matter experts, writers and creative teams to develop high-quality, differentiated thought leadership and creative content and manage the distribution of same, externally and internally, utilizing multiple formats and channels as appropriate
      • Collaborate with other areas of Brand and Marketing; team with the right internal and external resources (i.e. internal communications, PR/social, centers of excellence, service Line, agencies) to develop and deliver campaigns
      • Track the effectiveness of overall marketing campaigns and individual initiatives, providing measurement reports and status updates

      Skills and attributes for success

      • Understanding of advanced marketing and communication principles and preferably, exposure to industry marketplace issues
      • Strong executive presence and demonstrated ability to interface with senior leaders, providing strategic guidance on marketing activities in support of their business goals
      • Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent marketing initiatives
      • Strength in working independently to resolve challenges while maintaining an active dialogue with leaders and stakeholders
      • Strong content strategy and development skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentations) as well as listening and interpretation skills including the talent to translate complex technical concepts into compelling marketing messages
      • Ability to understand and speak to consumer industry trends and issues
      • Strong project management skills and proficiency at effectively managing multiple complex and time sensitive projects
      • Efficient time management and prioritization skills with ability to create time sensitive material for clients (internal and external) and manage programs in a fast-paced environment
      • Responsibility to adhere to internal reporting requirements and risk management protocols
      • Adept at working independently as well as within virtual teams
      • Strong leadership skills to coach and develpp junior level team members

      To qualify for the role, you must have

      • Minimum of 7-8 plus years of marketing and communications experience, with consumer products or retail industries and/or professional services experience preferred
      • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a marketing or communications major or equivalent experience, MBA is a plus

The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $98,100 to $178,100. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $117,700 to $202,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
