      A Glimpse of Security Analyst Job

      Texas A&M University is offering an exciting opportunity for security analysts – with a background in networking fundamentals – to join the Security Operations & Forensic team whose role is to protect and secure our campus network. A well- qualified candidate will have experience with segmentation, routing firewalls, along with basic scripting/programming. Frequently used tools include Cisco Umbrella, Palo Alto Panorama, Extrahop NTA, Elastic Security SIEM, and other Linux and Windows administration tools. We have multiple positions from first line of defense to more experienced incident response and leading projects.. Here is a brief summary and salary range of the positions.

      Level 1 Security Analyst

      • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus two years of related experience
      • Role: Serve as first line of defense, monitor security systems, execute initial analysis, maintain security logs, and assist in enforcing security policies
      • Salary: $57,000-$68,000

      Level 2 Security Analyst

      • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, please three years of related experience
      • Role: Key player in incident response for complex issues, develop protocols, perform in-depth analysis of security alerts, and contribute to security solutions
      • Salary: $68,000-$82,000

      Level 3 Security Analyst

      • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus five years of related experience
      • Role: Manage cybersecurity threats, lead security projects, provide policy and architecture guidance, and mentor junior staff and students
      • Salary: $82,000 - $98,000


      Additional Notes:

      • Positions require U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or asylum/refugee status due to export control
      • On-site location in College Station, Texas with the option for an alternative work location two days per week
